Success Stories

Wayne Turton (2021), now a Trustee, Wayne approached us looking
to gain any foothold in the industry. With his background in managing a fleet of delivery trucks in Yorkshire, we used our networks to get him delivering props for a Charlotte Tilbury make up shoot! That was enough to get Wayne connected in the transport side of the industry, since then he volunteers his time at the PFMC as a trustee.

Kaya Huggins (2019) was looking for work experience as a young person aged 18, with our contacts and her tenacity and go getter attitude, she worked as a runner w=on The Chelsea Flower Show, looking after Anton Du Becke. She worked as a make up artist assistant on Laura Sawyer's choreographed dance project and as a set stylist assistant for Bloom and Wild. Kaya also directed a music video 'Ho'opono pono'. She continues to gain experience in various roles, modelling, music production. You can check her music out here.

Ryan Letbe-Holder (2024) is a creative enthusiast, not only is he an extraordinary musician, he is also a tech genius. We met him through a musical artist that he worked with as a producer and performed with on stages such as The Shepherds Bush Empire! He wanted to follow his passion with his modular set up and teach all age groups how to use a modular to create sounds, music and learn about the physics and electrics of sound waves. We helped him by putting him in touch with legal professionals to set up his own Charitable Trust. He is now living his modular dream! follow the link:

(2024) Cassandra Casey working as a freelance sonographer, for the NHS, wanted to experience the film industry. With our contacts, we got her working as a stage manager at Shepherd's Bush Empire and then through her own effervescent self she was cast on a television commercial for the NHS! She now continues to cater to the film industry literally with her catering company Okie Poke! and figuratively offering her B'n'B services to production companies that film in Margate! Our network got Cassie consulting with legal professionals that provided business structure advice for her.

(2025) The Saw Doctor aka Gervais Sawyer is retired, well so he says, but he is always so busy in his field as an expert in all things wood. Although this is not an industry we work in, Gervais got in touch through family who work in the industry and asked for assistance to create a website and increase his visibility online. We were happy to cross pollinate industries, after all timber is used so much on set building we couldn't do without it, so we wanted to give back. Our funding paid for his website to be built and provided training for him to manage his online presence. The Saw Doctor is a charismatic character. Check out our work! www.workwithwood.org.uk

(2023) Sometimes we work with other charities registered with the Charity Commission. Orlęta are a community interest organisation, some of their Polish UK resident members work in the film industry already. The came to us looking for volunteer staff to assist in some of their big performances such as The Fairfield Halls in Croydon. The group also needed legal documents to help with their fiduciary responsibilities in accounting and banking, with our contacts they worked with legal professionals to establish concrete structures that will last through the generations of their community.

(2024) Kate is a designer and her husband Anthony is an electrician who has worked for the PFMC, that's how she got in touch. Kate wanted to make connections within the industry to promote her design company and also needed assistance creating a trust for her beautiful son who will need care for his lifetime. Her finances were limited in paying for legal services, so our funding helped her get consultations that led to vital legal documents that would protect her son and help her and her husband generate wealth for the family. She continues to work as a designer and is contact with our industry network. Check out her work here.

(2020) Ana Telma Rocha is a phenomenal actor, she has worked on many projects and also collaborates across international waters. Her work was also sporadic, such is the nature of acting jobs, she wanted to make contacts that could employee on a freelance basis and use her language and translation skills. She has since worked as a legal contractual translator between UK, Irish, Danish and Portuguese clients. Her ability to bond with people and put them at ease, as well as her acute attention to detail makes her a powerful force for any company to use her negotiation skills and her own connections across borders. Our grants and network enabled her to continue pursuing her acting career while also receiving a reliable income.

Back when he was starting out, the PFMC assisted him to have experience on film sets as an extra on music videos, stage hands and our funding helped contribute to his production work for Musical artists. (2023) iEsa Kaleb Huggins approached us after his sister recommended the PFMC to him. He was a young carpenter joiner's apprentice and was researching becoming a set builder in the film industry. Firstly we managed to find him work making 500 wedges for a grip! With our connections we managed to get him on a few sets, as a grip shadow for a day, set builder's assistant, working on 'The South Wing' location house (which he is very proud of), he was also a stylist assistant building furniture. iEsa has since retrained as a Black Smith and he is very grateful that he has been exposed to the industry because now the application of blacksmithing and carpentry open up a world of possibilities in set and prop building. We recently helped him apply to the Jim Jackson Foundation who granted him £2000 to invest in his business plan.

(2025) Obi was a child actor on a couple of music videos and now that he has nearly finished secondary education, he wanted to dip back into the industry to get some more experience. With our connection he worked as a food stylist on a MacMillan Charity shoot. He said he had great fun making fruit sculptures and cupcake decorations all day! Obi is hoping to be linked with a modelling agency soon, we are reaching out to our networks to help him through the door. So proud to see such young and eager people get involved in the creative industries.

(2023) Ben Davies is a lovely young man everyone who meets him comments on how lovely he is. As you can tell from the photo above, film industry work is not always glamorous, sometimes it involves carrying very heavy equipment across muddy fields in the pouring rain. Ben quickly adapted to the grip department and the sparks all loved him too, we created a trainee position for him. Reports back were of his diligent work ethic, sunny disposition and witty sense of humour. after the traineeship Ben is contemplating an apprenticeship in a different vocation. We wish him luck in the future, he is contact should he need our network again.
